The Wairarapa Times-Age released an article detailing some of the thoughts about online dating by singles in certain areas of New Zealand. Allen Kirk, New Zealand author of the book "The Diary of a Dating Site Bachelor" offers advice to those dating in his area of New Zealand as well as to online daters in general.
Online dating is becoming a rapidly growing business in New Zealand, but some outside of the major cities are still nervous about meeting people online. According to the article:
"It's like being at a big party, – the crowded room – they have forgotten how to "work" the room, like how you move around at a party, talking to people, and if you don't like someone you move on and try elsewhere.
"That's just what it's like dating online," he said.
"And of course you have to be careful just as you do dating in the more traditional ways but there are tools on the internet that can see you safe while still allowing you to be a bit adventurous."
This fear can be true for online daters all over the world who are just getting back into the dating scene or who have not interacted with such a wide range of potential dates. For the full article, click here.
