eHarmony Tries to Broaden Appeal

(Online Dating Industry Journal) The Los Angeles Times has published an article on eHarmony's quest to appease mass audiences, particularly religious groups. The article is titled, "Dating Service Branches Out From Evangelical Roots." The article discusses the ties that eHarmony's founder has to religion and how the site has to walk a fine line to appease the masses without offending. Here's a quote from the article:

"With an eye on the threat of competition, Warren is full of plans for expansion. He said eHarmony would launch an online marriage analysis service -- featuring exercises aimed at strengthening relationships -- by the end of the year. One area into which they don't plan to expand is matchmaking for gay men or lesbians..."
