Global Perceptions of Online Dating

(Online Dating Industry Journal) Online Dating Magazine has published research results from market research firm Synovate that analyzes global perceptions and success when it comes to online dating. For the research, Synovate surveyed 4,386 people from Brazil, France, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Romania and the United States. Here are a few of the findings:

> Percentage-wise, more French use online dating that those from any other country in the survey.

> Nearly 1/3rd of those surveyed who would not use online dating believe it is dangerous or only for desperate people.

> A person's written profile is more important than their photo in determining whether or not to make contact.
