The Los Angeles Times is jumping on the media promotion bandwagon of online dating's success during the economic downturn. Dozens of newspapers and media outlets have already reported on the growth of online dating as Americans lose homes, cars, jobs, and money.
The Los Angeles Times story is titled "No Recession for Online Dating". Here's an excerpt:
But despite -- or perhaps because of -- such relentlessly bad news, there's an up side -- for daters, at least. Singles are wading into the online dating pool in record numbers, giving virtual matchmakers their best traffic figures in years -- and users even better odds for finding a snuggle buddy, a fling or the One..."
Dating sites give people something to look forward to. People are looking for comfort. Really interesting trend.

It's obvious that when times get tough a lot of people start thinking of things that can't be valued in monetary terms - like love.
