(Online Dating Industry Journal) Match.com announced today the beta launch of a new site, Chemistry.com. Chemistry.com is now available in the Denver, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas, with plans for a national roll-out in early 2006.
“No one understands the diverse needs of single people better than Match.com,” said Jim Safka, chief executive officer of Match.com, Inc. “Our research identified a growing segment of single adults who are actively looking for someone to build a life with. They want a partner like Chemistry.com that can introduce them to more of the right people and get them face-to-face faster.”
On Chemistry.com, online daters begin by taking the Chemistry Profile™, a personality assessment developed in collaboration with scientific advisor Helen Fisher, Ph.D. Based on the results of the profile, members are matched up with a select group of people that are considered to be compatible. The matches are then brought together through a step-by-step process called 1-2-3-Meet™. This patent-pending process brings members to the final step, meeting face to face.
According to Match.com, Chemistry.com is the first site to incorporate member feedback after each first meeting, helping to deliver more compatible matches and make dating more successful over time. Match.com also claims that this feedback loop also is designed to help members better understand the dynamics of their in-person meetings and gain personal insight that will improve their chances of discovering chemistry and building an enduring relationship.
“Just like Match.com did a decade ago, we believe that Chemistry.com is going to revolutionize the way that people connect and build relationships,” Safka said.
