(Online Dating Industry Journal) A new online dating service aimed at "farmers, ranchers, & country folks" - FarmersOnly.com - has popped up in the news lately. Farmers Only, launched in May of 2005, touts the slogan "City folks just don't get it!" and was developed to be site for farmers, ranchers and those who truly understand the rural lifestyle.
Jerry Miller, FarmersOnly.com site owner and owner of the marketing and public relations firm for the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, realized after talking to single farmers, "One thing they all had in common was a feeling of hopelessness in ever being able to find someone whose lifestyle matched theirs...The need for a real online dating service focusing on farmers and ranchers became clear. Six months later, after thousands of hours of research and interviews, I launched FarmersOnly."
According to a press release,
"While typical online dating sites ask if you are employed in business, finance or computers, on FarmersOnly.com you are asked what type of livestock you raise or what type of crops you grow. Most other online dating sites have partnerships with one another, but FarmersOnly.com is not affiliated with any other service and will not sell your name or information to any other companies. The postings are unique and not a carbon copy of the other sites."
FarmersOnly is currently offering a free 30 day premium membership for a limited time to celebrate the launch.
