(Online Dating Industry Journal) Today, a Reuters news release announced that online daters are suing matchmaking sites Match.com and Yahoo! Personals for fraud. Both suits are seeking class action status. Of the suit against Match, the release said:
"Match.com, a unit of IAC/Interactive Corp., is accused in a federal lawsuit of goading members into renewing their subscriptions through bogus romantic e-mails sent out by company employees. In some instances, the suit contends, people on the Match payroll even went on sham dates with subscribers as a marketing ploy."
Match has said they do not employ people to go on dates with members or send misleading emails, but cannot comment on pending legislation.
Of the suit against Yahoo!, the release states:
"In a separate suit, Yahoo Inc's...personals service is accused of posting profiles of fictitious potential dating partners on its Web site to make it look as though many more singles subscribe to the service than actually do."
Yahoo! is accused of breach of contract, fraud, and unfair trade practices. The lawsuit against Match claims the company violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act. To read the full release, click here.

Yahoo is at it again or should I say still. Fake and/or old profiles, no customer support and a refusal to stop billing. Is the class action suite still ongoing and if so how do I become a part of it?

Hi,
I sent an icebreaker to two different women on Yahoo. I received a "personal written reply" from each of them. The only problem was two different women sent me the same exact message, including the misspellings. I've saved them both. Yahoo is committing FRAUD. Gary in Winchester
