(Online Dating Industry Journal) A recent artcle in the Southwest Iowa's Daily Newspaper, The Daily Nonpareil, explains that online dating is often becoming the preferred method for singles when compared to the traditional bar scene. According to the article:
"Internet dating has become the modern way to find that special someone, according to Kathleen Roldan, spokesperson and dating expert for Match.com. No longer plagued by the stigma of desperation, Internet dating has increased in popularity within the last few years.
"'Singles are realizing it's such a great option that really allows you to connect with people. You can tailor your search to only look at people who meet your criteria and get their beliefs, values and interests first,' Roldan said. 'More and more people are finding the bar scene isn't as attractive.'"
The article touches on the Match.com and Yahoo! Personals lawsuits and profiles one happy couple that met online and are now planning to be married. For the full article, click here.
