(Online Dating Industry Journal) A new social networking site dedicated to enhancement of sports fan interaction and communication, EveryTeam.com, launched their online service at the beginning of the 2005 National Football League season. The site is specifically designed for sports fans to facilitate online and offline social interaction with other sports fans worldwide.
“We are excited to give sports fans of every sport, and of every team the best services we could offer to network and communicate with other fans around the world about the thing they love. Sports!” stated Jason Morrow, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder.
EveryTeam lets fans interact in traditional ways that are common to most sports fan sites such as with forums and messaging, but EveryTeam also provides the ability for fans to develop their own teammate and rival lists, create social groups that they can invite other fans to be a member of, write blogs and subscribe to other fan blogs, store and share their favorite sports photos, subscribe to their favorite sports news RSS feeds, and post and search classifieds. As with all social networking sites, EveryTeam is also a way for sports fans to meet each other for possible romantic relationships as well as friendships.
EveryTeam has also recently partnered with UserPlane to provide streaming audio and video technologies with their flash-based chat room, instant messenger and the video recorder. Fans will be able to instant message their favorite teammate or rival. According to EveryTeam, fans can chat with hundreds of other fans in the chat rooms before, after and even during a game- a virtual tailgate party. With the video recorder, fans will be able to record their own video greeting for other fans to watch.
“There is no internet user as exciting as the sports fan,” said Morrow, “and we want to offer fans a site that is just as fun and exciting as they are.”
“There is not a more hyped time of the year for sports fans than right now,” said Hari Swaminthan, EveryTeam partner and co-founder. “We just finished the baseball season with the White Sox winning the World Series, the National Football League is heating up as team are striving for the playoffs, and we also have basketball and hockey in full stride too.”
