(Online Dating Industry Journal) New dating service PeekaBio.com attempts to help people that have had a chance meeting stay in contact without having to give away too much personal information. Jim Lofton, creator of PeekaBio.com, created the service after noticing the regular columns in major newspapers headed, “You caught my eye, Missed Connections, and I saw you” where singles take a long shot.
PeekaBio.com can create a profile on the site with a bio and pictures but keep that information only visible to those that know their "handle". Members then are able to print out "Peek" cards that contain their handle and a request that they can be contacted on PeekaBio.com. This card is presented to someone they have met in person and would like to know better. Recipients of the "Peek" card can then go to the site and view the member’s unedited, uncensored profile, and email them anonymously through the site if they’re interested. The couple can then start exchanging emails anonymously through the site together without having to give out personal information, just like traditional online dating services.
PeekaBio.com premium membership including the profile is $29.95 per year, and visitors can view profiles and email members for free.
