(Online Dating Industry Journal) Joe Levin of CCN Magazine recently wrote an article touching on the major points of the lawsuit against Match.com, but also brough up a lawsuit against offline matchmaker Together, Inc. According to Levin:
"Even traditional dating services are being sued. Together, Inc. was recently sued by a James Hunt of California because he did not receive the invitations to the "nine compatible women" he was supposed to have received for his $3,000 fee. And you can hardly blame him. When you're paying $333.33 per invitation, your definition of "compatible" might get considerably picky. Then again, compatibility is all relative. If you ask me, any two people actually willing to pay $3,000 to a dating service are already compatible."
Lavin also states his opinion that Matthew Evans' claim that Match employed a woman to contact and go on a date with him to prevent his Match.com membership from subscribing is "a lot of effort by Match just to keep Matthew Evans of Orange County, California a customer." Lavin states, "It's just as likely that his date was looking for a way out of seeing him, and thought that telling him this story was the best way to ensure that he wouldn't call again." I remember when when dating was simple. Now you have
Online
Dating Service which makes things harder to truly find a match. This could be the reason for the legal proceeding mention above.
