(Online Dating Industry Journal) An article in the Manitowic Hearld Times explains some of different approaches the top online dating sites rely upon when matching their members, including the introduction on Chemistry.com as competition to eHarmony. From the article:
"eHarmony asks subscribers to fill out a survey that takes about 90 minutes and pairs subscribers according to the survey...Match.com isn't as structured. It offers subscribers the option of listing key words that describe interests. About once a week the subscriber receives an email with a list of mutual matches."
The article warns against professional online daters and features three singles looking for their match online, two through Match.com and one through eHarmony, as well as a couple who met through Match.com and have started a relationship.
Unfortunately they quoted me as saying "professional daters" instead of "Professional Online Daters" which is a term we came up with awhile back to describe someone who is "addicted" to online dating. You can read more about it at http://online-dating.datelists.com/articles/professionaldater.html
