(Online Dating Industry Journal) An article in Online Dating Magazine cites results from a recent JupiterResearch study that found that online dating revenue in Europe is increasing at dramatic rates and will continue to grow. From the article:
"The report reveals that online dating revenues in Europe will grow 43% from €160 million in 2005 to €228 million in 2006. The U.K. is the largest online dating market in Europe, with total revenues expected to reach €63 million in 2006—representing 28% of the European market. Although the online dating market in Europe is smaller than that in the U.S., industry revenues in Europe are growing more than seven times faster. Currently just 4% of European Internet users say they use online dating sites, compared to 20% in the U.S."

As reports of slow U.S. industry growth continue to surface, it is promising to hear of such rapid growth in Europe. It looks like the online dating boom that happened in 2003-2004 in the U.S. is starting now in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom. It will be interesting to see if the growth slows in a year or so as it has in the U.S.
