(Online Dating Industry Journal) Citing statistics that 72% of single people have never used an online dating service, Match.com has launched a new "starter kit" to encourage people to try its service.
According to Match.com, the "starter kit" includes the following:
1) The Best You, The Best Way: This section provides honest advice for daters as they represent themselves and their personalities through their profile.
2) Cracking the Soul Mate Search: Experts help take the mystery out of searching and reviewing potential matches while showing those new to online dating how to get the most from their matches.
3) Connections That Count: This section instructs people how to e-mail potential dates in order to effectively forge connections and provides strategies for taking online relationships offline.
"Match.com creates more possibilities for people to connect than any other method of meeting," claims Kristin Kelly, senior director of public relations for Match.com. "Match.com's romantic connections result in more marriages per year than any other dating site. Our new Starter Kit helps those who have never tried online dating ease into it by teaching the secrets to success that have worked for millions of Match.com members."
Joe's Comments
Match.com's public relations efforts are often misleading. For example, eHarmony has released stats backing up their 33,000 marriages a year claim. Where is Match.com's research data to back up its claim of "more marriages per year than any other dating site?" It reminds me when Match.com launched their magazine, claiming it was the only online publication covering the online dating scene. Online Dating Magazine was already two years old when they launched their publication and made that announcement!
I applaud Match.com's use of incentives to drive memberships. They have been especially good at this over the last 15 months. I do feel, however, that they could do a much better job at titling their projects. "The Best You, The Best Way"? Does that title really make anyone want to drop everything they are doing and sign up for a Match.com account in order to download it? And "Cracking the Soul Mate Search" sounds like a special on Dateline examining couples who use crack together.
how do i get the free starter match kit?

This commercial project of a search site has been created for fast information search, documents and files on the basis of own search systems,
information technologies and search programs; selection, processing and ordering of results of search in the form of inquiries, reports and explanatory
notes on the basis of the multilevel and multifactorial analysis of an information field with its subsequent interpretation.
