(Online Dating Industry Journal) Ten percent of internet users visited an online dating service at least once in 2006, a decrease of 6% over the number that visited at least one online dating service in 2005. This is according to new research that JupiterResearch will unveil on Monday.
The drop can easily be explained by looking at the experiences of online daters with online dating services:
> Keynote revealed in a study that customer satisfaction with online dating services is low.
> Complaints to the Better Business Bureau about online dating services are increasing.
Joe's Comments
None of this suprises me. I wrote about my concerns in my April 7, 2006 Inside the Industry column. Online dating services need to step up and take action to create better user experiences and better customer service if they want to see the industry grow. Site's like True.com are giving the industry, as a whole, a bad name (see Online Dating Magazine's Letters to the Editor section).
TRUE will not cancel my subscription after I have called twice and even wrote them by email. They are a ripoff. They send fake messages trying to get more interest from people. Screw Them!
