(Online Dating Industry Journal) On its seven year anniversary, relationship service eHarmony has released some new information about the company that was previously unknown:
How many members are on eHarmony? 17 million.
How much has eHarmony grown? 30% growth over last year.
The growth and membership numbers help dispel any theories that the Chemistry.com "rejected by eharmony" television ad campaign was hurting eHarmony's growth.
On August 22, eHarmony turned seven years old.
Joe's Comments
There was a lot of speculation online (we didn't make any here) that the Chemistry.com attack ad campaign against eHarmony was hurting eHarmony's bottom line. This new information clearly shows the opposite to be true. Despite new competition and attacks from multiple fronts, eHarmony is seeing a strong growth. Since eHarmony is privately owned, we only get numbers they want us to see, but both growth and actual members are big numbers. The question now is how do these numbers compare to Match.com, which claims to be the largest online dating service? There's no threat to their dominance as Match.com has more than 20 million members.
Match.com is world wide Eharmony is usa only for the most part.
