(Online Dating Industry Journal) A new dating service, SawYouLikeYou.com, is taking a failed concept and trying to turn it into a winning service. SawYouLikeYou.com allows people to hand a "dating card" to someone they meet offline that they like. The person receiving the dating card can then go online and log into the person's profile on SawYouLikeYou to learn more about him or her.
A few years ago, two other dating services tried out this same concept and failed - Peek A Bio was the first and Chick N Chit was the second. Both came out with fanfare about a new way to date (using a business card to give to someone interesting who can then view your profile) and both failed within a year.
"SawYouLikeYou.com is particularly well suited for men and women who have not dated in decades," says Andrew Colombo who founded the service with his father. "Someone who was married for 10, 20, or even 50 years who finds themselves divorced or widowed who has forgotten what it is like to date can now easily start over and meet a great man or woman in the office, at the coffee shop or at the park without having to worry about what to say or how to say it."
Right now the service offers a free 30-day membership.

This concept has been tried and failed in the past. It's not going to be easy for them to succeed as there's nothing that sets them apart from the other services that didn't make it.
