(Online Dating Industry Journal) eHarmony won an award at the annual Entre Entrepreneurship Awards for being the leading "growth company". Companies eligible for the award must make more than $8 million a year.
“eHarmony ultimately received the award for having clear evidence of product acceptance and the ability to define new marketplaces; vision and potential for future revenue growth and profitability; and dynamic leadership with a proven record of execution,” said Stephanie Yanchinski, Executive Director of Entretech.
eHarmony has experienced significant subscription and revenue growth since it firs launched eight years ago. The company has gone beyond online dating to also offer services to married couples and to sell books and DVDs. It is now focusing on international expansion.
The three finalists for the award were eHarmony, Green Dot Corp, and Vantage Media Corp.
“The best measure of our accomplishment is the large number of eHarmony members enjoying happy marriages and our financial success is a by-product of our focus on the consumer,” said Greg Waldorf, CEO of eHarmony. “We are honored to receive this award and I thank our members and the eHarmony team for all they have done to make us so successful.”
The Entretech awards are not national, but rather for companies in the Greater Los Angeles area.
