(Online Dating Industry Journal) The New Jersey Jewish Standard has written a nice in-depth article about Jewish online dating. The article is titled "Online Dating: A Way for Couples to Click" and it explores the experiences of Jews who date while providing valuable insight from the minds of Jewish daters.
From the article:
"...JDate is not the only Website out there (see, for example, Jewster, Twentyfoursix, Frumsky, Jlove, and Jmatch), and some sites, like Frumster and SawYouAtSinai, are targeted specifically to the religiously observant. In fact, in 'The Shidduch Crisis: Causes and Cures,' psychologist Michael J. Salomon deplores what he calls 'an overabundance of dating sites,' even in the Orthodox world..."
One of the interesting aspects of the article is its exploration of synagogues paying for single Jews to use online dating services for Jews.
From the article:
"Emert — who in December began to use monies from his synagogue’s discretionary fund to subsidize JDate memberships for 12 congregants — said that 'more and more Jewish singles have met their spouses on this wonderful modern-day shidduch Website.'"
